Edit a PDF free — add text, images, shapes and a signature

A real editing surface over your PDF pages: type text anywhere, drop in an image or a signature, draw boxes and arrows, highlight a clause, and white out something that shouldn't be there. Everything sits on a full-page preview you can zoom, and the result is saved back into a normal PDF. It runs in your browser, so a contract you're marking up never gets uploaded.

How to edit a PDF

  1. Open your PDF

Drop the document in and page through it with the preview at whatever zoom suits.

  2. Add what you need

Pick a tool — text, image, rectangle, highlight, whiteout, signature — then click or drag on the page to place it. Everything can be moved and resized afterwards.

  3. Save the edited PDF

Press Save. Your additions are drawn into the pages and the finished document downloads.

What PDF Editor can do

  • Text anywhere

Click and type, with control over size and colour — good for filling flat forms.

  • Images and signatures

Place a logo or a signature image, then scale and position it exactly.

  • Highlight and white out

Draw attention to a clause, or cover something that shouldn't ship.

  • Nothing uploaded

The document is edited in your tab — worth knowing when it's a contract.

PDF Editor — frequently asked questions

Can I edit the existing text in a PDF?

Not the original text — that's a limitation of the format, where text is positioned glyphs rather than paragraphs. You can cover the old text with a whiteout box and type new text on top, which is how most PDF editors handle small corrections.

How do I sign a PDF here?

Add a signature image — a photo or scan of your signature on white, or a PNG with a transparent background — and drag it onto the signature line. Save and the signature is part of the page.

Can I fill in a PDF form?

Yes. If the form has real interactive fields you can fill them and then bake them in with Flatten PDF. If it's a flat scan, use the text tool to type into the blanks.

Is the whiteout actually secure for redaction?

Treat it carefully. The box covers the text visually, and for a scan that's the whole story. For a text PDF, the safest route is to whiteout, save, then run the result through Flatten PDF in rasterise mode so there's no text layer left underneath.

Do my PDFs get uploaded to a server?

No. Every tool on Notoo Tools runs as JavaScript and WebAssembly inside your browser tab. There is no server that receives your files — you can disconnect from the network after the page loads and the tool keeps working.

Do I need an account or a subscription?

Neither. There's no sign-up, no email, no free-tier limit and no watermark. Bookmark the tool and it opens straight into the work.
