Split a PDF by its bookmarks or chapters
Books, manuals and reports usually carry an outline: a bookmark for each chapter. This tool cuts the document at those boundaries, producing one PDF per top-level bookmark and naming each file after the bookmark it came from. No page numbers to work out and no ranges to type — and, as always, the file is processed in your browser rather than uploaded.
How to split a PDF by bookmarks
Load the PDF
Drop the document in. Its top-level bookmarks are listed with the page each one starts on.
Check the split points
Review the outline the tool found. Each bookmark becomes one file, running until the next bookmark begins.
Split and download
Press Split. Every section is written as its own PDF, named after its bookmark, and packed into a ZIP.

What if my PDF has no bookmarks?
There's nothing to split on, and the tool will tell you so. Use Split by Text to cut on a recurring heading instead, or Extract PDF Pages if you know the ranges.
Does it split on nested sub-bookmarks too?
No — only top-level entries, which is almost always what 'one file per chapter' means. Sub-sections stay inside their parent's file.
Do my PDFs get uploaded to a server?
No. Every tool on Notoo Tools runs as JavaScript and WebAssembly inside your browser tab. There is no server that receives your files — you can disconnect from the network after the page loads and the tool keeps working.
